Quick answers

Will it fit my coupler?

Each tool is made for one coupler style and one body size, so it isn’t universal. Type the part number stamped on the metal coupler (not the numbers printed on the hose) into our Tool Finder, or measure your coupler.

Do I need the male or female tool?

For flat face couplers, trapped pressure can be in either half, so most customers get both tools. 7241-A, 7241-B and Ag/Pioneer tools already come as a male + female set.

Which side do I use it on first?

Use the tool on the implement side first. That’s where most trapped pressure builds up, and those couplers are easier to reach. It works on the machine side too.

Does oil come out?

Only a little. Turn the plunger until fluid begins to flow, then stop — the trapped pressure is gone. Keep a rag handy.

What if I order the wrong size?

Our Right Size Guarantee covers you: exchange for the correct tool, or a full refund within 30 days. No restocking fee; you cover return shipping. Email relief@relieftool.com.

How fast does it ship?

Shipping is free in the US. Orders ship the next business day by USPS Priority Mail (typically 3–5 business days).

The Original Tractor Relief Tool™ — 1" 7241-A Set (Male + Female)

Safely relieves trapped pressure in 1" 7241-A hydraulic couplers on compact tractors, so your hoses connect back together.

Fits 1" 7241-A couplers only. Will NOT fit flat-face couplers. These tools are not universal — each is machined for one specific coupler.

In the box

  • Both tools included — relieves pressure on 1" 7241-A MALE and FEMALE couplers
  • Compact enough to live in your tractor toolbox
  • Bright Green poly handle — won't disappear in the grass or mud when you set it down

Look nice fit the mating part, but still too early to tell about functionality ask me when the snow starts flying and mercury drops to - 25 degrees and I have to hook up the blower to the tractor.

These work great, saving time and the frustration of relieving pressure off my grapple to reattach the hydraulic hoses. I release the pressure by toggling tje 3rd function controls before detaching the hoses but if there is a temperature change such as having the attachment in the sun, it will build pressure and make it difficult to get the hoses to couple. This sure beats getting the wrenches out to break a line loose to release pressure.

This set of tools has solved the problem of struggling with hydraulic hoses that still have pressure. I wish I had found them fifteen years ago.
