Pioneer couplers (also called Pioneer fittings, Pioneer tips, ag couplers or ISO 5675 quick couplers) are the hydraulic quick-connect fittings on most farm tractors and implements. The male tip pushes into the female coupler.

What Is a Pioneer Hydraulic Coupler?
"Pioneer" started as a brand name (now made by Parker), but people use it for any ag-style coupler. Summit AG, Faster NV and many tractor-brand couplers are the same style.
- Male tip: the plug end.
- Female coupler: the socket the male tip plugs into.
- Sizes: 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 3/4" and 1". 1/2" is the most common on tractors. We make tools for every size except 3/4".
Pioneer Coupler Size Chart
On a Pioneer part number, the number after the dash tells you the size.

A "P" at the end just means it has a poppet valve. It doesn't change the size. Ignore anything after the size (like 12GAS, 08N or 3/4-16 ORB). That's the hose thread, not the coupler size.
Common mistake: Pioneer 4050, 8010 and 8250 are ag couplers, not 7241-B. A 7241-B tool won't fit them.

What size Pioneer coupler do I have?
Check the part number on the coupler and use the chart above. No number? Measure the male tip. Most tractors use 1/2".
Is Pioneer the same as ISO 5675 or "ag" couplers?
Yes. They're all names for the same style.
Will a Pioneer coupler work on my John Deere or Kubota?
Most John Deere and Kubota tractors use ag-style couplers, but sizes vary by model and year. Always check your part number or measure.
Can I connect Pioneer to flat face?
Not directly. They're different styles and need an adapter. The relief tool has to match the coupler that's stuck.
